Create a Post

  1. Click on your “Blog Page” - This may be titled differently depending on how your website is designed and how you are using your blog.

  2. Click the “+” icon next to Blog Content.

  3. Add a post title - The title should be short, concise, and 60 characters or less to grab interest.

  4. Add content - Lead into the post with a short 100–200-word introduction and then continue with your content. Remember the “5 w’s”:

    • Who is your target audience?

    • What is the reason/purpose for this post? Tell the reader why they should read your post.

    • Where? Do you need to share a location?

    • When? If you have an event, sale, performance, etc. make sure you make it easy to find.

    • Why Does it Matter? It may be important to you, but the reader is who you need to impress.

  5. Graphics? Let’s face it, graphics draw readers in so make the post visually interesting, but don’t lose focus on the content. Finding balance can be difficult so when in doubt, remember “less is best”!

  6. Call-to-Action (CTA) - Last but never least, create a CTA (call-to-action) button or link in your blog post. This can be a:

    • Click to content,

    • Sales-focused link to your product or event,

    • Request for more info or a consultation.

  7. Checklist:

    • If applicable, did you credit the original content or author?

    • Did you provide clear, actionable steps (CTA) for your reader?

    • Is the content relevant, accurate, and interesting?

    • Did you aggressively proofread for grammar and run a spell check?

    • Did you include relevant images, graphics, videos, products?

  8. Last step - Publish, schedule, or exit edit mode?

    • Publish - Post your blog immediately,

    • Schedule - You can schedule your blog post to coincide with an event, a promotion, or any future date.

    • Exit Edit Mode - Select to save as a draft and come back later to complete.
